Here at Brookes bed and Biscuit we require proof of the following vaccinations to be up to date prior to boarding and or/daycare.
Updated vaccinations must be administered at least 48 hours before your pup arrives for their reservation.
Our weekend hours are a reflection of our office hours. Our weekends are our busiest days of the week so the couple of hours we are closed during the weekend days allows us to spend extra time with your fur babies and give them the most attentive care they deserve. This also allows your pups the ultimate downtime.
We do not have any staff that stays overnight. However your pet is secure with our 24/7 surveillance and security system. Each pet stays in their own individual kennel run inside which allows them complete comfort and safety. At the end of the day, with full tummies and tired pups, our building is peaceful before our staff leaves for the night. Our required nightly walk through, completed by our kennel attendants, ensures that all your pets have fresh bedding and are comfortable for a good night's sleep.
If anything happens to your pet during their stay we will immediately contact you along with any additional emergency contacts listed under your profile. Within this phone call to the pets owner we will discuss the best course of action for your pup's well being. If your pet is suffering from a medical emergency and we are unable to reach you (the owner) or any additional emergency contacts on file over the phone, we reserve the right to make decisions regarding your dog's health and safety. Thorough individualized checks of your pets well being are conducted morning and night, allowing our staff to quickly recognize any abnormalities. Your pet's health and safety are our main priority!
We only require reservations for boarding. Daycare does not require any reservations and allows you to drop off your dog with us at any time during our operating hours. However if a special holiday event (ex. Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc.) is occurring during that month we may encourage you to make a daycare reservation to ensure your pets spot in the fun. If you have not visited us for daycare for a while we would really appreciate it if you called or made a reservation online so we are expecting you and can confirm that all your pup’s vaccinations are up to date.
We ask that you bring your pets food with them in individual bags assigned per meal. We do offer house food (Natural Balance and Iams) for $5 per day, however we highly suggest bringing your dogs regular food to make it easier on their stomachs. Sudden changes of diet can cause a pet to have an upset stomach. We have multiple refrigerators as well to accommodate food that needs to be refrigerated. We do provide bedding and toys for your pet but you are more than welcome to bring your own. If you do decide to bring your pets blankets, toys, etc. with them please take the initiative to label each item with their name. Many dogs find comfort in having the smell of home close by, so even leaving a tshirt or clothing item of your own with them is a great idea. The only item we ask that you don't bring are any type of bowls or dishes. We have many of those to offer, including slow feeders if that's what suits your dog best.
Yes we can, free of charge. However, unfortunately we can not accommodate insulin dependent pets.
In the case of a mandatory evacuation we will contact all owners to come pick up their dogs. If the owner is unable to pick up the dog they are required to set up a family member or friend to do so. Under absolutely no circumstance will we abandon a pet at our facility, if you are unable to pick up your dog we will assist you in devising the most effective course of action and assist you in any way we can!
Yes we do, however your pet will not be allowed to socialize with any other dogs during their stay as a precaution and will have individual play times with our staff.
Yes we do, we do not have any age restrictions with senior pets within reason. If you are comfortable leaving your senior pet with us we will be more than happy to accommodate them and provide them with the extra attention they may require. For some situations we may ask your senior pet to be approved by your veterinarian for boarding services.
All dogs must complete a Meet & Greet day in order to be eligible for our daycare and boarding services. Our Meet & Greet is essentially a first day of daycare (charge of $11) and allows your fur baby to meet our staff and acclimate to the new environment of our facility. It also allows our kennel attendants time to assess your pups temperament and behaviors so by the next visit we can begin socializing them with other dogs. We require you to drop off your pup with us for at least 2 hours however they are welcome to stay with us as long as you would like between our operating hours. You will receive a report card half way through their reservation, providing updates and a brief summary of how your fur baby is settling in. If you and your pup are new to our facility, please set up a meet and greet any day between Monday and Friday!
We offer tours at any time of the week (Mon-Fri) during our operating hours. We usually recommend stopping by around noon since this is our most quiet time of day. We would be more than happy to show you around our facility no appointment needed!
Here at Brookes Bed and Biscuit, we offer 5 spacious suites. Our newly remodeled Suites are perfect for an extra posh stay. Our suites allow extra room for your pup to jaunt around along with ultimate privacy. Each suite will be set up upon arrival to specifically accommodate your pet’s stay with us. Our suites book up quickly so we recommend to our customers that they reserve them as far ahead as possible.
Our regular boarding kennels are 4 by 16 foot runs. Our runs are meticulously cleansed with veterinary grade disinfectants. Each run will be customized with cozy bedding and toys to keep your dog occupied throughout the day. During the day your dog will go outside 6 times (every two hours) for potty and play time. Time outside varies from about 10-30 minutes, depending on the weather and the amount of time your dog wishes to spend outside. If we feel your dog needs extra outings outside to exert their energy we will add extra play time to their day. Each dog has their own special way of letting us know when they are ready to return to their runs and we recognize those signals. If you desire for your dog to be socialized during their stay we will match them with friends of the same size and temperament. All potty and play times are closely supervised by our kennel attendants. If you do not wish for your dog to be socialized, our kennel staff will be there to keep them company while they are outside, whether that means playing fetch, sun tanning, or just hanging out. Breakfast is served after your pup’s first walk which is at 6:30am and dinner is served at 4pm. We understand how important thorough digestion is so we require each dog to have an hour minimum of rest time between completing their meals and their next walk. After each walk your dog's run will be inspected to ensure their runs are spotless and have clean bedding along with fresh water.
Our daycare is unique compared to others in the area. Rather than being exposed to other dogs consistently throughout the day, your pet will stay in their own individual runs between playgroups or solo playtime. This ensures that no dog is excluded from our daycare program, whether they are social or not. We understand that every dog is different!
That's not a problem. Your dog will go on individual walks in their own yard. A kennel attendant will be in the yard alongside them to play and supervise. This allows for your dog to have just as much fun and not miss out on any playtime.
We require that your puppy be at least 6 months of age before entering any of our playgroups. You can still bring your pup for daycare before our age threshold however they will only be allowed on individual walks for playtime. This is to guarantee their health and safety. It's also a great way to slowly adjust your puppy to exposure to dogs around them along with new people!
You pups daycare will start by being greeted by one of our staff members in our lobby. Our kennel attendants will walk your fur baby out to our yards to go potty or stretch their legs before their day begins. After their morning stroll they will be brought inside to rest in their own individual kennel while they wait for their fellow daycare friends to arrive. Depending on how early your pup arrives there will be individual walks before our first playgroup which starts at 11am. At 11 they will be walked out to their assigned playgroups to hang out with their friends for 30-40 minutes. After playtime is over they will come back inside for a break in their kennels before the next playgroup starts at 1. If your pup typically eats lunch, we will utilize this time between playgroups to serve them their meal. Breaks in their own individual kennels allows them time to rest and regenerate for the next playgroup. At 1 they will go out for their second playgroup of the day, followed by another playgroup at 3, and their final walks of the day at 5. This is around the time many of our daycare family members start getting picked up so after 3:30pm we will take your pup out on individual walks for one-on-one time with our kennel staff. This allows them time to wind down before you come to pick them up from daycare!
